Born of Necessity

Retropalooza was started in 2013 in Arlington, Texas by friends who enjoy all things retro; from toys to music, to video games... especially video games. As video game collectors, they spent a lot of time and money looking for retro games when they figured it would be easier to bring the games to them. Thus, Retropalooza was born. The first year started as a one day, six-hour event that drew 350 people through the gates. By the second year, we added an extra day to the convention and guest panelists, making Retropalooza a "real" convention instead of just a swap meet. As we continue to grow, we will add more and more attractions to ensure the best experience possible. The goal of Retropalooza is to bring nerds from all walks of life together for an enjoyable, family friendly time. Good old-fashioned fun with like-minded people, where it will always be affordable, and forever improving.

Sophomore Year | 2014

Retropalooza 2 saw a huge jump in attendees. From 350 to 1200!! We went from a 5,000 square foot building to a 20,000 square foot building. We added guest panels and went from 44 vendor tables to 85 vendor tables. We are excited to see what Retropalooza bring in the future.
